Some computers may be setup to use the hot keys; ALT + V to activate a program called VSAFE. This is a virus detection software that checks the hard drive. People’s Choice^® uses this same key combination to void transactions (checks, invoices, cash receipts, deposits, credit memos, payments, etc.) If you are initiating the VSAFE program when attempting to void a transaction in People’s Choice^® follow the steps below to change the hot keys for VSAFE.

• When VSAFE is activated press ESC to exit that program and it will automatically return you to People’s Choice. Exit People’s Choice^® until you get to the C:\. (Be sure to get to the root directory) From the C:\ type Edit Autoexec.bat and press <Enter>. Find the statement which contains the V-Safe command. Change the entry to V-Safe /CV this will switch the hot keys for VSAFE to Ctrl + V .
