- Install PC Dos 4.2 or 5.0 Classic as per instructions
- Click on Start Button
- Click on Run
- Type edit c:\winnt\system32\config.nt
- Review the program looking for the following 2 statements
FILES=99
BUFFERS=40
If you do not find these 2 statements, add them at the
very bottom of the program.
- Save the changes and exit the program
- Restart your system
- On your Windows desktop, find the People’s Choice
Icon, right click on it
- Click on RENAME; Change the name from
People’s Choice DOS Classic to (exactly) MS-DOS Prompt - FOXD250B
- If you are using Extended Fox Pro use the following MS-DOS Prompt - FOXDX25B
- When you click on the PC Dos ICON, the program
will hang as it opens; when it hangs, find the SafeChoice Solutions Manager on
the task bar, click on it, click on the X in the upper right corner of
the screen to close down the SafeChoice Solutions Manager.
- When People’s Choice opens to the menu, Click on
Start, Programs, People’s Choice for DOS
Classic, and SafeChoice Solutions Manager.
