Choice Technologies, Inc. Installing Update - "Not a Database File"

 

If you experience a problem after installing an update and while the system is attempting to index it reports the above message, it may indicate data corruption. To <Enter> People’s Choice® and restore from a backup, you need to bypass the indexing procedure. Follow these steps to eliminate the indexing and go directly to the Company Selection Menu.

  • At the C:\PEOPLE prompt type setverify=off , this will allow you to enter People’s Choice® ONLY to restore from a Backup. (NO OTHER MENU OPTIONS WILL BE FUNCTIONAL) After choosing the appropriate company, select Restore Data From Floppy, from either the Module Selection Menu, or in the Payroll & Disbursements Module on the Main Menu under Backup Data Files. Follow the instructional prompts at the bottom of the screen to restore the data. This restore process only affects this company.
