A window will appear with several selections, choose NEW by clicking on it once, a sub-menu will appear, select Create a Shortcut.

An entry window will appear, at the command line, type C:\PEOPLE\PC.BAT, with C: being the hard disk location where People’s Choice^® is installed. 

Move the mouse point to the bottom portion of the window and click on NEXT. 

You will be prompted to enter in a description for the icon you are creating, type in People’s Choice^® and then click on OK. This will immediately put an icon on the main menu screen for People’s Choice^®, however the icon will not be the People’s Choice^® ribbon.

To change the icon’s appearance, point the mouse to the icon just created for People’s Choice^® and click on it ONLY ONCE to make the description highlighted or appear in a box. 

Position your mouse on the highlighted box and click the right mouse button. 

A window will appear with several options, click on PROPERTIES. Your system will open what looks like file folders at the top portion of the screen. Position your mouse on the one that reads PROGRAM. Then click in the body of that screen on CLOSE ON EXIT. (This will make sure when a user is finished using People’s Choice^® and presses the ESC key, the system will automatically return them to their Windows ‘95 main menu.) 

To bring in the People’s Choice^® ribbon as the icon, click on CHANGE ICON. A window will open prompting you to enter the file name and location, type C:\PEOPLE\PEOPLE.ICO again with C:\ representing the hard disk location of People’s Choice.  Then click OK. 

Move the mouse to the top portion of the file folder titles and select SCREEN, click on FULL SCREEN then click on APPLY. This will always expand the People’s Choice^® screen to maximum. Press the ESC Key to close this window and your People’s Choice^® ribbon icon should be visible and ready to go! .
